MEMORY CAFÉ with Rush Alzheimer's Disease Center

WHAT IS MEMORY CAFÉ?

A Memory Café is a safe, supportive environment, designed to engage attendees in cognitive activities to perk up memory. The goal of The Park Forest Public Library's memory café is to keep attendees mentally and socially active, which research shows is protective of brain health. The Memory Café is free and open to all older adults with or without current memory concerns. Guest speakers are occasionally scheduled, and community resource information is available. All families, friends and their caregivers are welcome to attend.

Join our guest speakers, Judy Phillips and Christina Rogers from Rush Alzheimer's Disease Center to learn about things you can do to keep your brain healthy and active as you age.

Immediately following the presentation, please fill free to explore one of our "Memory Stations" to challenge you cognitive skills.

Same event, new day and time! Join us for the Technicolor Teen Coloring Circle at the library! Unleash your creativity with vibrant colors, cool designs, and a fun, relaxing atmosphere. Whether you're a seasoned artist or just looking to unwind, this is the perfect space to express yourself and connect with others. All coloring materials are provided—just bring your imagination!

Registration is encouraged, but not required.

Celebrate Earth Day at the library! Drop in for a fun Earth Day Pop-Up Craft for kids & teens. Young creators can make a simple, Earth-inspired craft while learning about caring for our planet. This drop-in activity is perfect for families looking for a quick, creative way to celebrate Earth Day together.

No registration required. While supplies last.

Ageless Strength & Mobility

Join us on designated days for an interactive, instructional fitness session with fan-favorite instructor Arlene Santiago! We've taken Chair Yoga and graduated into something even more exciting: Ageless Strength & Mobility!

Participants are encouraged to bring a hand towel and water with them to class.

Connecting Through Treads

**Available In-Person at 11:30am**

Join us for a relaxing afternoon just for knitters, crocheters and more! Gather with knitters just like you to share ideas, techniques, and good conversation.

Bring your own knitting & crochet materials, or use the basic supplies provided.

No experience needed. All skill levels welcome

Diamond Art Club- Adults & Seniors

Are you a FAN of Diamond Art, or are you curious about what it is? Come join us for a FUN-FILLED afternoon of Diamond Painting! Diamond Painting has proven to be incredibly relaxing and enjoyable.

Projects and supplies are provided, or you can bring something you're already working on!

Diamond Art Club meets every other month on designated Thursdays.

Families are invited to enjoy a relaxed and meaningful reading experience together at the library! Parents/Caregivers will have the opportunity to read one-on-one with their child at their own pace in a comfortable, welcoming space. The library will provide a variety of books, cozy reading spots, simple activity supplies, and engaging materials to support shared reading time. Start with 30 minutes of reading with your child followed by 30 minutes of interactive, sensory play!

Participants of all ages are welcome to join us for Project Bloom: A National Poetry Month & Earth Day Creative Writing Experience! Hosted by Airregina Clay of Brilliant Ideas House. 

This learning experience is aimed at anyone seeking to engage in a meaningful earth day activity while channeling some creativity. We will learn about the history and importance of Earth Day, explore nature themed poetry, and write our own Earth Day inspired poem.
