Roll Call
The regular meeting of the Olympia Fields Public Library Board of Trustees was called to order at 6:30 pm.
Trustees Present: Howard Robinson, Dr. Taneen Brinson, Elizabeth Hadala, Jerry Pierson, and Dr. Kametta Clark
Absent: Sherry Demian and Carolyn Johnson
Also Present: Barbara Osuch and Jessica Washington
Minutes
Trustee Pierson moved to approve the minutes of the January meeting.
Trustee Hadala seconded.
The motion passed.
Financial Report
Trustee Brinson moved to table the financial report until the return of the treasurer.
Trustee Clark seconded.
The motion passed.
Bylaws
President Robinson reported on the approved revisions to the Board Bylaws and asked for the required trustee signatures.
Correspondence
President Robinson noted that he would forward an email to the trustees that he received from a current Olympia Fields resident and author, requesting a letter of recognition for her new book.
Little Free Library
President Robinson requested that the Little Free Library link be sent to all the Trustees so that they can review the available weather-resistant options to replace the Little Free Library outside the Post Office.
Community Engagement
Trustee Brinson will reach out to Arcadia School to inquire about trustees reading to students and other outreach opportunities. The trustees discussed opportunities to be more involved with community engagement projects.
Jessica Washington provided contact information for the schools and highlighted the Real Men Read program, started by John Fountain, at School District 162.
Communications
President Robinson reported on the services for Carolyn Johnson’s husband, Willie Johnson, to be held on Friday, March 29.
President Robinson thanked Library Director Osuch for delivering a care basket to the Johnson family and ordering flowers for the funeral, on behalf of the Olympia Fields Library Board.
Report from the Librarian
Library Director Osuch reported on the FY2024/25 budget process, drive-up services, and the debut of A Piece of Park Forest on April 6.

Trustee Brinson moved to adjourn the meeting.
Trustee Hadala seconded.
