Roll Call
The regular meeting of the Olympia Fields Public Library Board of Trustees was called to order at 6:38 pm.
Trustees Present: Howard Robinson (President), Dr. Taneen Brinson (Vice President), Sherry Demian (Treasurer), Elizabeth Hadala (Secretary), Carolyn Johnson, and Dr. Kametta Clark
Absent: Jerry Pierson (Parliamentarian)
Also Present: Mary VanSwol and Jessica Washington
Minutes
Trustee Johnson moved to approve the minutes of the October meeting.
Trustee Demian seconded.
The motion passed.
Correspondence
President Robinson passed around a thank you card from Diane Pierson for the plant that the Board sent. The Board also received bookmarks for Family Reading Night.
President Robinson attended the ILA legislative breakfast. He brought back a brochure of 2025 initiatives and the RAILS Agencies of Impact report.
Financial Report
Trustee Demian had correspondence from Liberty Mutual. The surety bond bill was due, and she paid it.
Trustee Demian presented the October financial report.
Trustee Johnson moved to accept the financial report.
Trustee Hadala seconded.
The motion passed.
Calligraphy
Library Director VanSwol shared the finished calligraphy poem that Shahedeh Tasharoki completed for Barbara Osuch’s gift.
Trustee Johnson moved that the Board give Shahedeh Tasharoki a check for $100.
Trustee Brinson seconded.
The motion passed.
2025 Schedule of Meetings
Trustee Demian moved that the Board approve the 2025 meeting schedule.
Trustee Clark seconded.
The motion passed.
Report from the Librarian
Library Director VanSwol reviewed the per capita grant application. She gave an update on Novemberfest, accessibility efforts, and the new Security Specialist Tommie Taylor.
Communications
Jessica Washington stated that Caroling in the Park is going to be December 14 at Sergeant Means Park from 2-4 pm.
Trustee Demian informed the board about the Makery at Elmhurst Public Library.

Trustee Demian moved to adjourn the meeting.
Trustee Robinson seconded.
