Roll Call
The regular meeting of the Olympia Fields Public Library Board of Trustees was called to order at 6:36 pm.
Trustees Present: Howard Robinson, Sherry Demian, Elizabeth Hadala, Jerry Pierson, Carolyn Johnson, and Dr. Kametta Clark
Absent: Dr. Taneen Brinson
Also Present: Barbara Osuch
Minutes
Trustee Pierson moved to approve the minutes of the March meeting.
Trustee Demian seconded.
The motion passed.
Correspondence
President Robinson thanked the library staff for writing a letter of support on behalf of the Olympia Fields Public Library Board for local author Mrs. Tracy D. Bond Lance.
Financial Report
President Robinson welcomed Trustee Demian back. Trustee Demian presented financial reports from November 2023 – March 2024.
Trustee Hadala moved to accept the financial reports.
Trustee Johnson seconded.
The motion passed.
Trustee Demian gave Library Director Osuch the check for the April 1, 2024 payment.
Little Free Library
The trustees discussed a replacement Little Free Library for the Post Office location.
Trustee Johnson moved that the Board approve the purchase of a two-story cobalt blue Little Free Library, made of composite material, for placement outside the Post Office, and an additional composite bench, to be attached to the Little Free Library at the Park District.
Trustee Demian seconded.
The motion passed.
Report from the Librarian
Library Director Osuch shared news of her retirement and announced the succession plan for the staff. Mary VanSwol will be serving as Interim Library Director. Library Director Osuch expressed her gratitude for her time with the Olympia Fields Library Board over the last 20 years and shared a poem that she wrote for the occasion.
The Trustees shared their congratulations and well wishes and thanked her for her exceptional contribution to the Park Forest Public Library.

Trustee Pierson moved to adjourn the meeting.
