Grow Lettuce & Herbs in a Bag with the University of Illinois Extension

Happy Earth Day!!
Join us to learn about plant basics: seed germination, soil health, plant structure, plant care and discuss the importance of the for primary plant growth factors.
Individuals are invited to make their own mini greenhouse using plastic sandwich bag and potting soil to grow lettuce and selected herb seeds indoors. Young plants can also be transplanted outdoors in the spring or fall. A small lettuce crop cane be harvested within about 6 weeks.
Participants will receive FREE SEEDS courtesy of the Park Forest Public Library
