COMPUTERS AT THE LIBRARY
TODDLER COMPUTER
A toddler computer is available for children five
years of age and younger. The computer is equipped
with a variety of educational and literacy
software programs geared to toddlers and
preschoolers. No registration is necessary
to play on this computer and there is no fee to
use it, but a parent or an adult caregiver must
remain with the child at all times while in
the library. Check it out!
YOUTH SERVICES COMPUTER USE
Computers with programs for preschoolers
through preteens are available in the
Youth Services Department. CD-ROM
programs include encyclopedias such as
Encarta and Comptons, other reference
programs, a word processing program,
and educational computer games.
A library card, school ID, or driver's license is necessary for identification. Sign-up is in half-hour segments and is done at the Youth Services Desk. Guidelines for the use of the computers are available in the Youth Services Department.
YOUTH SERVICES INTERNET USE
Youth Services patrons who have registered with their
parents in the Youth Services Departmenthave access
to the Internet. Guidelines for registration and use of
the Internet are available inYouth Services.
There is no charge to access the Internet.
To help young Internet users get started in cyberspace, we have created Cool Links to connect with outstanding entertainment sites, useful sites for learning, and help with homework and science fair projects.
