Through interlibrary loan, patrons can access materials from other libraries in Illinois and from other national and international OCLC-participating libraries. The requested materials will be sent to the Park Forest Public Library, where the patron may check the item out (or, in some cases, use it only in the library). The turnaround time varies depending upon the lending library and the status of the materials requested.
When the item arrives the patron will be notified by e-mail or mail or phone (by request only). Items are held for five days once they arrive at the library.
If the patron does not pick up the requested material before the hold expires, the request is cancelled and the items are returned to the owning library. If the items are still wanted, another request must be placed.
Item may be requested online, by phone, by e-mail (include barcode and name), or in person at the library.
Telephone Services: The library offers many services over the telephone, such as renewing & reserving books, and answering questions about the availability of specific titles.
Large-Print Collection: The books in this special section are printed in easy-to-read large type. Many popular titles and favorite authors are included in this every growing collection.
Shut-in Service: Homebound? Unable to visit the library? We have books to go! The library offers free home delivery service to residents of Park Forest and Olympia Fields who are temporarily or permanently confined to their homes.
